Noticed on a Charger owners' website that some one posted about using double sided 3M tape to fix this problem. I love this car, but, I am not going to pay what others were quoted! It is a known problem, and Dodge should make good on it and FIX IT ! It's a week later and still no word from Dodge. I tried to find the original seller, no luck, so, I questioned a Dodge website about the situation. Asked the dealer (remember he was Chevrolet), and he reminded me that it had a 36,000 mile/36 month warranty. She was right ! The passenger side was almost completely separated at the top of the door, and the driver side was trying to catch up. The local dealer let me take it home for the weekend, and my wife noticed that the window was "funny shaped".įinalized the deal on Monday, and then did a really close inspection of the car. It was a Rottweiler vs Chihuahua type of deal (4 tons vs 2 tons). I love my car but I am becoming more frustrated with this issue because I only see it getting worse and becoming a more significant problem that will cause further issues with the functioning of the door.īought this Charger off a Chevrolet (dealer), (or should I say "rescued" it ?) after my 2010 Charger lost a misunderstanding with a Yukon, and the rear end was pretty much ripped off (I stopped, she did not). It definitely becoming a significant issue due to the fact that every time someone opens my car door or walks up to the car with the window down my door panels become a topic of conversation. My mechanic says there should definitely be a recall for the issue but I have not found one yet. Now I find myself inspecting other Chargers on the road to see if they are experiencing the same issues and have notice quite a few have the same thing happening. I got the windows tinted then realized a few months later that the passenger side door panel was warped as well. ![]() I assumed it was because my front windows were not tinted and the southern California sun had melted whatever type of glue that had once held it together. I eventually noticed that my driver side door panel was warping. I purchased my vehicle in August of 2017, and didn't notice in significant issues until this year.
